Visit the highlights of one of the most important events in modern history during the French Revolution Walk. This walk will bring a fascinating era to life and offer an insight into the lives of those who struggled through one of the most violent times in French history.

Details

Our English-speaking Paris walking tours have been designed to give you an insider's look at the most popular areas of the city.

The French Revolution Walk will enlighten you to the significance of one of the most important events in modern history. The French Revolution officially began on July 14, 1789 as the citizens stormed the Bastille Prison, current-day location of one of the Paris Opera Houses.

Relive the troubled times leading up to the storming of the Bastille prison. Revolutionaries scaled the moat and stole over 30,000 weapons from the French army's ammunition depot, Les Invalides. Other highlights of the tour include the Conciergerie, a former prison which sits atop the Ile de la Cité. This prison is from where, along with 2,500 others, prisoners Marie Antoinette and King Louis XVII were sent to the guillotine.

Tour also includes the Tuileries Gardens, the Place de la Concorde, the Assemblée Nationale and discuss the Reign of Terror.
