Tour of Fisherman's Wharf
Previous | Next
1 of 1

Locals know where to find San Francisco's Maritime's Heart, and so will you during our adventure into the City's waterfront. From incredible art deco murals that echo the City's maritime past, to fish processing plants of San Francisco today, we'll explore up close and personal Fisherman's Wharf from an insider's view. We'll not only see Sea Lions and Elephant Seals, but also have a naturalist describe their habitats and lives.

Details

Art and machine become one as we meander through arcade games from the turn of the 20th century. And, of course, we couldn't think of going through the waterfront without sampling some of the freshest seafood and San Francisco's world famous sourdough. We'll even satisfy your chocolate sweet tooth. From the sea to the confectionery shops, we'll explore every corner of the Wharf, in the process, winning your heart over to everyone’s favorite City by the Bay.

You can take this tour by itself, or you can take it and enjoy a meal at one of these two fabulous restaurants!

Macaroni Scuie Scuie
Named as the best Italian Restaurant in San Francisco by the San Francisco Chronicle and the San Francisco Bay Guardian, it also includes the Purple Onion. The Purple Onion is the very place where everyone from Robin Williams, Maya Angelo, Phyllis Diller, Woody Allen, and Lenny Bruce got their start. Performers from Barbara Streisand and the Grateful Dead played there also. The owner has restored it to be exactly the same as it was in the 1950’s and 1960's.

Chinatown Restaurant
Chinatown Restaurant is a unique experience even within the diversity of the area. It is the only restaurant to serve both traditional Chinese cuisine as well as Northern Chinese specialties. In addition, the building is a historic Chinatown landmark and worth a visit in itself.

The original restaurant at the site of the Chinatown Restaurant first opened its doors in 1919. The owners have managed to preserve its original, traditional front, which has served as the background in many movies and television shows. Movie star Leonardo Dicaprio, Governor of California Gray Davis and many local and statewide politicians, has also visited the restaurant.

Chinatown Restaurant offers the finest in Chinese cuisine. Their Dim Sum selection is excitingly delicious, with a variety of choices. The combination of exotic seasoning and spices will surely bring to you a taste of delight.

The best part is that you get to choose which restaurant and when you want to go!

After the meal, we'll enjoy a bay cruise and learn about harvesting local seafood in San Francisco. And, chances are good, we'll watch them pull crab pots right from the Bay.
